Hua I am Sqaso and I am would like to ask you a few questions and share some if my own experiences with you. My first thing about your blog entry is this in first person because mine was in third person. Also why do you want to kill the Whites, there are more of them in the area you like in than there are Indians. I just think that you can benefit you in a good way. That is all I hope you reply.

We are a female slave at the age of 26. Our name is Abigail Smith and we are African. We had a husband but were separated when we were captured. We have one son named Johnny who is 5 years old. We are a kitchen worker, probably the favorite because we get treated better than the others. We work by cooking the meals for the plantation owner and serve food on some occasions. The economy sometimes effects what tools we can get to cook with and what foods we actually get. We have to care for the baby all the time and worry about him. We are christian and pray silently every night.

We absolutely love that you are a christian. We also noticed that your writing is not in first person. You did an amazing job. How's your son Johnny doing? It's sad to hear that you got separated from your husband when you went into slavery. Hopefully you can read our story too!

Hua I am Sqaso, I am a Mohawk Indian for New York. I would like to speak to you about your travels and tell you about my travels as well. I believe that this entry should be in first person and is only about one person, not multiple people. I have never seen a plantation in my life and I am interested to hear from you about your life in more detail. Also since you are a slave how good is you reading and writing, from the looks of this it seems pretty good. Well I hope you will reply.

I am a twenty-one year old Britain, wife and a mother of two children. My name is Petunia Stot, currently I am living in Boston, Massachusetts on a small farm. In our royal colony is not as warm, like in the south, so we can’t grow certain crops. Since we can not make much money on our crops we also do furniture making. On a typical day I don’t just farm and make furniture, I also clean, cook, do laundry, and spend time with my family.
Our geography is unsuitable for large plantations, so when we work in the field my kids work right beside me. Every Sunday our family goes to church to worship God and learn more about Him. Then the day after Sunday my children go to a small school in the colony, five days every week.

Kitchen Slave
Hi! My name is Abigail Smith! I am a slave in Georgia. I used to have a husband, but we were separated at a slave sale. I really miss him, but I have my young 5 year old son, Johnny, to remind me of him. I work in the kitchen, so I always have to figure out where he goes for the day. I make the masters personal food and serve him in the morning and in the evening, because lunch is eaten with the family in the dining room. I probably get treated the best for being a slave, and I have gained everyone's trust, and that is how I became the personal chef to the master.

I am a christian, and am quite religious. I have to keep it a secret though because we aren’t supposed to practice religion. I also have a small bible, so I have to keep that a HUGE secret because we aren’t even supposed to be able to read and write. So that is one thing that is from my past life, and I hang onto it because it is all I have left. So that is how I live as a slave. I hope my story has inspired you to make your own blog about your life! I hope to see you guys soon!

Abigail Smith, we see that you work as a kitchen slave in our Georgia peanut plantation. We recently have stumbled across the murder of a fellow slave, slaughtered by someone with a kitchen knife. We suspect YOU to be the murderer and have even wrote so in our blog entry. Since you are a Christian, if you have no alibi, we shall have you publicly flogged and hanged. The evidence seems incriminating, a slave, working in OUR kitchen at OUR Georgia plantation, in possession of a kitchen knife, the same weapon that killed your friend. If you admit to your wrongdoing, your punishment will be less harsh. You may come to our post and state your guilt.

Name: Gerald Williams @PeanutFarmerGerald123
Age: 23
Race: White Man
Family: Wife- Nancy

My name is Gerald Williams. I am a 23 year old white male with a wife named Nancy. We live in Northern Georgia and are peanut farmers. Here in Georgia, many of us are poor debtors. But, in the most northern part of the colony, we are very rich. The many of us are slave-owners that grow rice and indigo. We are the only peanut farmers we know of and this is why our business is so big. After I wake up, I eat and go to the slave market to see if any strong ones came in. Then I walk to the school where, in fact, I am the Principal. Usually at night, I check my traps, reset them, and go home. My favorite time of the week is when I get home, we will have poker night with my buddies every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
I have a good relationship with my mom because when I was just a little boy my father was killed by a group of angry slaves. I have a wife that I love dearly. She is a very nice woman, (and is very pretty). I don’t really have a religion because I spend most of my time hunting wild boar and elk. I went to the local school which has since been closed down. We had to build a new one when the old school caught on fire. I did most of the work so I am the Principal. Most of the time, I am not there, so I made someone else a Vice Principal.
Last night, a slave was murdered. We asked all of the other slaves what happened and all of them said that they had no idea. He was found stabbed through the heart with a kitchen knife. I have reason to believe it was my neighbor Leroy Brown because he is jealous of my peanut business. It could also be our kitchen slave Abigail Smith, because of the kitchen knife. My wife and I will look further into this matter.

I have not committed the crime you have accused me of, but I will admit that at one point the kitchen knife you speak of did go missing. I have gathered evidence and have concluded that it was YOU! You just want to release your anger out on me by beating me. These accusations are quite ridiculous, so if you could please stop harassing me that would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the confusion. I hope this will not affect my working position. Thank you.

Hello my name is Reese Withersmith. I am 24 years of age and am married with 2 kids. I live in the colony of Georgia and own a plantation. The plantation I own is a rice plantation. It is very hot and humid so I have to hire slaves to do the work. My average day is me teaching my kids and being feed by my house slaves. My family is catholic and I am the formal head of the household.

I hear in the city that the French and Britain are in conflict over the Ohio Valley. I don’t really care about this war with the French, they don't even bother us plantation owners in Georgia. I haven't been affected by these rising tensions.

My name is Akecheta Enapay Langundo. I do not keep track on how old I am, but I think its 27. I live in the Mohawk tribe. To tell you about me is I have tan skin, a Mohawk and down is braided with beads, I’m 6’7’’, brown eyes, i’m the best skilled hunter in our tribe, I have a scar down my right eye. I got that scar by fighting a wolf. We live by the Ohio river. The women in the tribe sew clothes, take care of children in the tribe, wash and prepared food for the winter ahead. The men and I go out and hunt for food and supplies in need to make our weapons. We also do the fishing in the bank, we fertilize the ground to help it prosper more crops. We make trade to the French and in return help them in the battle ways to camouflage in the forest instead of the red coats. The typical day for me is having a small breakfast with my family then go out and find supplies to mend the tribe rituals for every night. But tonight we have the spirit of the eagle. So the dancers are having eagle feathers and the head for the costume. Drums and flutes players will present the ceremony songs. We have 65 tepees with families all around. During the day all the children go to the elders and learn the ways of our people.
Our religion includes a number of practices, ceremonies, and traditions. These ceremonies may be in honor of a number of events. The practice of taking certain hallucinogens was commonly used to gain greater insight or communicate with the gods. Our ceremonies may include feasts, music, dances, and other performances from our tribe. Symbolism, especially with animals, is often a common part of our native way religion. Animals are used to represent certain ideas, characteristics, and spirits. Some tribes use animals to tell the story of creation.
The education for the children is to survive: preparation for the food, hunt, and practice ceremonies. The women teach the young girls: cook, sew clothes,
Consequently, both men and women were respected for doing their jobs well, although this is not how early European American observers saw it.
Such observers, coming from societies which held that women–gentlewomen, that is– should be cloistered and protected. They witnessed them, from varying societies and at various times of the year, clearing fields, planting, hoeing, and harvesting; digging cache pits and storing food; erecting and dismantling lodges and tipis; collecting wild plants and firewood; cooking, hauling water, and washing dishes; transporting possessions, generally on foot, on bison hunts; making household items, including pottery and clothing; and child rearing. This workload increased during the first half of the nineteenth century as the fur trade raised the demands for dressed skins and robes. Meanwhile, the European American observers, often only transitory travelers, saw our men sitting around the village or encampment, smoking, gambling, perhaps mending a weapon or caring for a horse.
While it is true that the women generally played a subordinate role in ceremonial life and lacked formal political power, they had types of political power that contemporary American women lacked. Women also had the right to divorce, and since they owned the lodge, an unkind husband could find himself homeless, with only his horse and weapons to his name. Women were also held in high esteem for their craft work, they played an important role in healing (especially in problems associated with childbirth), and they took care of religious items, a responsibility of the highest order.
Men's roles were equally misunderstood by early European American travelers. Men were responsible for hunting, defensive and aggressive warfare, manufacturing of weapons, and nearly all society-wide political and religious operations. Observers who saw Indian men in their villages saw them "off work," although often they did help the women in the fields or in the construction of a lodge. Men's work took them away from the village, and it was dangerous. They hunted on increasingly contested bison ranges and journeyed hundreds of miles to enemy encampments to steal horses and to win honors. Women often died at an early age, worn down by a life of hard work and frequent childbearing, but men died in greater numbers and at earlier ages, victims of their dangerous occupations.
Indian men were to become farmers or blacksmiths, and Indian women were to become housewives, in keeping with European American concepts of "civilize" divisions of labor.

I am a 36 year old Native American named Takanata and this is my life story. My wifes name is Takajawaya and together have 2 children, a boy and a girl. We named our children Tecumseduh who is 7 years old and Womanaki who is only 5. We live in the outskirts of the colony of Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania is full of very dense forest. My tribe is the Tamasaki tribe. We are counseled by the village elder who gives us all tasks to do in the village, her name is Samawaski. My task is chopping down timber and trading it with the quaker population in Pennsylvania. I spend 7-8 hours cutting down lumber from the Appalachian mountains.Then I spend time eating dinner with my wonderful family for half an hour. Finally my favorite part of the day is spending time with the family. We sometimes have story time or my wife will give us all a lesson in weaving. I am always looking for more workers to help me cut the lumber down.The way I see it the more white me that come to the colony to help chop down the trees the more money I make each day. Since I am cutting lumber 7-8 hours per day I have become very muscular. Since my task requires a resource that does not grow back instantly my family and I pray to the creator Tabaldak for new trees to grow over the winter.
I teach my kids how to hunt many wild animals and to fish using our tribes native traditions. Our main weapons we use are bows. We camouflage ourselves using our surroundings the silently sneak up and shoot the animals. We have a gathering every month for the tribes in Pennsylvania. We eat lots of different foods and trade for many different things.

Hua I am Sqaso, I am apart of the Mohawk Tribe in the New York colony. I am 15 years old and have no children or a wife. I work for a carpenter near Fort Nassau, I cut lumber for the carpenter and send it in to him everyday like clock work. My days consist of cutting lumber and hunting food for the family. The lumber business is booming in the New York colony, there is an abundance of trees. We are also wealth through trade as well. Since we have natural harbors. We also have a lot of cultural tolerance since there are many different people have settled here. I am not christian, I follow my native culture and keep to my roots. I have learned a bit of English as a way my boss “pays” me.

Hello this is Mary Poppins from New Hampshire. I feel like your blog is very interesting. How long have you been learning English? I have children and I am wondering what your mother does to help you learn more. You wrote your blog very good, I like how you said you've been following your native roots.

My name is DaQuan Chong and I live in the New York colony.I'm 68 and have 12 kids and 21 grandchildren. I've been in the colony for about to very long years. We live right around the best harbor on the coastline. That of course is New Amsterdam. For our two years here we have worked and lived on a large farm. I am pretty poor until I met my second wife who is rich. During harvest season we sell our goods and we also trade them at the harbor. That's the way we make our money and how we get our equipment.
My family was living in Norway before we immigrated here to New York. Before Norway, I lived in Israel for about five years. I lived there because I was studying philosophy in a college there. I was blessed to study there because I am a Jewish man. My family has been Jewish since my parents got married. When we moved to the colony, I was very scared. I didn't know how I would be treated because I was black. I am also Asian. I finally felt safe when I learned that New York allowed an abundance of different types of people. Now hat I am here, I wish you find it kind to welcome me and to read my other blog entries.

Hello, My name is John Smith. I am a 32 year old caucasian male who is married to a beautiful wife named Elizabeth. Elizabeth and I had a boy named William 11 years ago and Elizabeth is expecting another one. My family and I have lived in New York for as long as I can remember. We live near the coast, just a few minutes away from the best harbor around.
Since I live near an ocean I make my living by myself. I run a business called “Fat Fisherman”. I have neighbors that live near a river. Those neighbors have a ship making business, that is where I get all of my ships. I spend my days out on the ocean pulling up nets seeing if I caught any big fish I can sell to make a profit. My wife is a housemaid and cook for the neighbors with the ship making business. I give lots of my lumber to my neighbor so we trade labor, boats for fish and fish for boats. I have a few hired hands to help me fish but not many. My son is getting old enough now to where he can help me some days. I sometimes sell fish to Jews since New York is very, I mean very diverse. My family is Christian but we sadly have had no time to get any education really. All we have learned is from our parents.

My name is Jon Doe from North Carolina. Thank you for your post. I have heard lots about the fishing industry in New York and you described it just as I have heard. Also, like you I was once married but my wife passes away. I have many more children than you on the other hand and I have a plantation instead of being part of the fishing industry

Nutt’s News
Hello, my name is Nathaniel Nutts. I’m currently 17 years old and I am a Native American. I'm married to my beautiful wife Lily who is raising our 5 children. My family and I live in the flat land of Pennsylvania with tons of other citizens. In Pennsylvania, there are no natural harbors, so we don’t often fish, but in the summer it’s warm and in the winter it is mild, which makes it suitable for farming. You can always find an abundance of fertile soil in the ground. Without the fertile soil we wouldn’t be able to survive because we practically live off of crops, like cattle, grain, rice, indigo and wheat, which are exported frequently. Around our wigwam there are trees surrounding us, almost like a barrier. Constantly nuts fall, and when we harvest them, we get 15 barrels at a time completely full! Afterwards we sell them to help support our big family of seven.
During a typical day, my kids do labor to help my wife and I out. It is a great amount of help for us, since we have five of them. They help out on our plantation, harvesting crops in the fall and planting them in the spring, I keep our kids working as hard as I do! My wife is the best help back at home. She does everything there, from making clothes to fixing meals. She also creates things we need for our wigwam, and toys for our children, like little corn husk dolls. We do own a plantation, but we still live in a small wigwam, because we have seven mouths to feed all together, and need to conserve money for emergencies. So we are unable to buy a stable house at this point. Meanwhile, every day I go to my job as a lumberjack. It is a good paying business because of the large amount of trees in our area. I make the main amount of money, along with our plantation profits.
Because we have full religious freedom as of the year 1681, my wife and children and I are one of the very few Catholic families here in Pennsylvania. I admire our colony greatly, because William Penn allows religious freedom, and this place gives a safe home to many families in danger of persecution. The education in our colony is pretty much the same. We are given a choice as to whether we want to teach our children or not. My five children will not grow up uneducated, and I demand for them to be taught. The leaders of our colony are not as concerned as they should be about the education of our future citizens. The three boys are taught by my wife, and they each learned a different type of skill or trade. Since we have money saved, we are able to teach them mathematics and literature as well. The two girls, who are also taught by Lily, learn many different household and social skills. They are not in need of education as much as the boys, since they are almost always going to be working inside. Hopefully the colony will realize how important learning is for our children, and may even get a place for them to all learn together.

STEP1:Hello my name is Kuncauchuchu, I am 19 years old. I am a very fit male, I’m 6 foot tall, and I have long brown hair, with blue eyes. I am a Native American and we live in the Middle Colonies, our colony we live in is New York. New York has a lot of farming and it is mountainous and hilly land. I have two older brothers and two younger sisters. My older brother is married and has two children he has two boys who are 15 and 17 years old. My family is growing and I am glad that our cultures are spreading.
The people here in my colony enjoy farming and fishing. There is a lot of boating and trading going through New York. We usually have to trade with New England colonies, which is quite hard sometimes, but we still manage our daily life. Since there is water around us it makes it an easy route to boat and go fishing. There is a lot of rich soil here for our farming, farming is a big deal here in New York, we probably wouldn’t survive without being able to farm, because, most people here get better crops by trading their own with somebody else’s crops.
STEP2: My family and I grew up with no religion. When I was 8 years old I learned to read and write. I grew up in a tough life of trying to become an intelligent young man.I hope my kids grow up in a very strong willed way and are just like their mother and father. I will try my best to raise them as well as my wife and I can.
I have a wife and two kids. My education is What I have learned from the land and my parents. They taught me how to farm and live off the land and how to fish. The only college that could give me any actual education is harvard. Which cost a lot because its the only college in the new found land.

We think this is a well written blog with a nice description. The only thing that is wrong is that Harvard is in not in New York but is in Massachusetts. This blog gave us a lot of information about your colony and daily life. Good job lolskii! (:

The French and Indian War effected my family by having my father die and the cost of all the supplies. Also we had to deal with giving up some of our horses to General Washington because of the shortage. Our education suffered also because the cost of the supplies. I'm glad that it is over now!

Greetings friends,
My name is Chucky James, I am 21 years old and I live in Rhode Island. I have a daughter named Annabelle who is 2 years old, and I lost my wife Molly to a whale accident a year ago. Living in Rhode Island is a joy with me and my daughter, we live by the water so there is always things to do. I have my own whale hunting business, called Chucky The Whale Hunter inc. I also have a love interest Marilyn the candle maker who I trade whale blubber with in return for wax. Since Rhode Island has a diverse religion I am free to be a Jewish man. Annebelle is too young for school and or work, before I hunt whales I have to take Annebelle to the babysitter, Carrie Ann. Carrie Ann is the Indian chief’s daughter and loves to watch Annebelle. I’m also a white man. Please comment on my blog, thank you.

Hi, my name is Nathan Parker and we have triplets and they are also 2 years old and we should meet up sometime when we go see the rest of our family in Rhode Island. We also should trade some of our goods because I am sure you could use some peaches and we could use some whale blubber. Hope to see you soon in the future!

Hi my name is Tessa. I was born in the year 1745 November 23. I am 17 years old. I am married to John Smith. We have 5 children. There is Elizabeth she is 1, there are the twins Anna and Muna they are 5. Then there are the other two John Jr. and wiona they are 3 and 6. We all live in South Carolina. In the colony we have crops, farming, slaves, woods, and good soil. For a living I help my husband tend the crops. I also make all the family’s clothes. During the day all I do is work out in the fields sew help the children get education on both crops and sewing. Then I go make supper for the family. Sometimes the nature around here gets a little crazy. Floods affect the growth of our crops and how long we grow.

A Poppin’ Blog

Welcome to this “Poppin’” Blog! All the latest updates on the French and Indian War and just so I can vent my emotions. Oh, pardon me, my name is Mary Poppins and I am 21 in the colony of New Hampshire. Obviously, I am female and my husband’s name is John Poppins. We have two darling twin children, a boy named Bennar, age 2, and a gorgeous 2 year old girl named Bennice. You may have heard about the colored folk being slaves and, honestly, I think that this is just wrong. I am white and you want to know just how many slaves I have? NONE!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My family life is as the following: The men spend their life out at sea fishing, and I spend my life at home talking, cleaning, and taking care of my children. I am Christian. My children's education is teaching them to read, write, and to live on their own some day. My education is reading and writing, my husbands education is reading, writing, and fishing, his father taught him how to fish. Fishing is the way of life here in New Hampshire.
It’s All About the Smith’s
My name is Martin Smith and I am a wonderful 47 year old plantation owner. My wife, Katie who is 40, teaches our 11 kids plus the many slave kids in our school house. Our kids range from 3 to 20 years old. My boys are Sade, Saleem, Sam, and my youngest boy Sameer. And our girls are Sage, Sara, Sal, Selena, Sally, and our newest Sandy. We are a devoted Christian and a bonded family. Every evening after dinner we try to meet in our living room and play games. I am very thankful that all the kids are sweet, hardworking, and intelligent.
My plantation is 250 acres in Georgia. In those acres I have 155 slaves working in the fields with rice and tobacco. The area we call Tidewater is where I live, so I plant tobacco and rice in the wet soil. I have owned the plantation for 27 years and it has grown from 25 acres with 10 slaves to 250 acres and 155 slaves(and growing). My kids help oversee the slaves and several of them help with the animals. Our life, family, and plantation is a very busy adventure.
I’m Betsy Miller and I am Married to George Miller. We have 9 identical girls and 9 identical boys. We are Dutch and are from New Jersey. My family and I are all Amish and are all home schooled. When my husband and I got to New Jersey we were granted religious freedom, and free land. It’s the best here in New Jersey! My husband and boys all help grow cotton so that the girls and I can all make clothing and blankets out of that cotton.
My typical day is spent on cooking, cleaning, and working around the house. My daughters all help me with these tasks. If we ever have a drought we will have big problems because then the crops won’t be able to grow, so then we wouldn’t have any food or any cotton. Although, we very rarely have droughts which is very fortunate for us. Overall in my opinion, I am a very busy, hardworking wife, and mother of 18 children.
My family life isn’t what I have dreamed of. Let’s just say it isn’t the best. I have to raise 18 kids all at once, since they are all identical. I have to cook for 20 people 3 times a day. I have to make clothing, towels, blankets, and much more that I wouldn’t have enough room to write all of them. Also, my family and I are all Amish. We’re very dedicated in the Amish community, so don’t even bother trying to change our religion. My whole family was home schooled, and I’m in the middle of homeschooling all of our 10 year olds. But, this is there last year of schooling since I’m only required to teach them up to the 5th grade. I’m relieved that I won’t have to teach them anymore because some of them are really hard to teach. (They aren’t that bright).
Happy farm girl Penn. 19847
Hi my name is Kirsten Taylor and I'm going to tell you how I live my life. I'm 21 years old live in Pennsylvania and i'm a colonist. I have 6 kids and married we grow grain and raise cattle my husband cuts trees down for lumber and for firewood. My typical day is cooking for the family and clean the house to make it look nice. The only problem is Indian attacks so it’s hard to farm.
Are normal daily life in my house is waking up the kids then teach them because their are no schools in the new world. After a few hours we do choirs which is more important than school. In this world we can believe in what ever religion we want but we decided to stick with catholic church. The only way kids can learn over here is homeschool.
